ENA President's Message
The ENA will meet Thursday - 7:00PM at the Fairhaven Park Pavilion. This month’s meeting will consist of normal ENA Board business and then a discussion about the Greenways Levies with respect to Chuckanut Ridge in the past and going forward. Slated to attend are City Council Members Jack Weiss and Barbara Ryan. This should be a very informative meeting to hopefully clear the past and look to the future. I encourage everyone to attend. The ENA business part of the meeting will end by 8:00 to allow for a full hour of discussion. I hope all can make it.
Thank You, Brad Rose
Mayor's Neighborhood Advisory Committee
MNAC met on February 11, 2009 at the Mayor’s Board room. Topics covered were:
1. The MNAC procedure for review of Comprehensive Plan Amendments was presented, discussed and voted on. Going forward, MNAC will look to “review and recommend” selected docketed Comprehensive Plan Amendments put forward by either the city, property owners, or neighborhoods.
2. Planning Director Tim Stewart presented the city’s list of the Comprehensive Plan Amendments they are recommending for docketing. Docketing of plan proposals will move them to the next step of staff review. Tim also told us that the Infill Housing Toolkit is done and ready for public review and eventual approval. There will be a public Meeting on Monday March 16, 2009 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the City Council Chambers. To view the proposed Infill Housing Toolkit, go to: http://www.cob.org/government/departments/pcd/urban-infill-toolkit.aspx
3. General Neighborhood Round Table discussion.

Reminder that our regular monthly meeting will be held this Wednesday, March 4th at Fairhaven Park Pavilion at 7 PM. Don't be late because we will have an excellent guest presentation by David Drummond of Merlin Falcon Foundation on 'Urban Merlins of the Northwest.' David is an expert on raptors in our area. You have doubtless seen the red tailed hawks along our byways. Learn how to spot the merlins as well.
Business meeting agenda items will include discussion of our Neighborhood Plan Update status, the newly proposed Infill Toolkit, and using GIS software to assist us in our Urban Village planning. Everyone is welcome!
Also, mark your calendars for our 21st Annual Plant and Tree Sale on Saturday, March 28th, to be held at the gravel parking lot at Mill and 11th in Fairhaven. Thanks Brad, for permission to use the space again this year. We already have 10 vendors pre-registered and are expecting many more. This fund raiser for Fairhaven Neighbors will also benefit CLSR-Coalition for Local Self Reliance-working to refurbish the Rose Garden and Caretaker's House. CLSR will have a table at the event as well, so come and see what's in the works.
Happy Spring!
Vince Biciunas, President, Fairhaven Neighbors
