Monthly Board Meeting

May 1, 2014

The meeting held in the Library at Fairhaven Middle School was called to order at approximately 7:10pm by ENA President Lylene Johnson. Lauri Grove recorded the minutes. There was not a Quorum of the Board present at the meeting.

Minutes: The minutes were approved as submitted.

Agenda: The evening’s agenda was approved.

Introductions

Treasurers Report: Diane MacLean

No report

MNAC Report: Diane MacLean

    No report.

Business and Issues:

Traffic/Speeding: The ‘speed wagon’ is recording speed on Fieldston Road! Lylene requested that we continue in the rotation to have the sign intermittently placed throughout the neighborhood in an attempt to curb traffic issues. John is still working on the possibility of stop signs in a couple troublesome areas. A suggestion was made to record license plate numbers of repeat offenders and report them to the neighborhood police officers. Officer Bean reported a couple phone scams from the “Whatcom Co. Sheriff’s Dept.” – be aware it is not wise to give personal information over the phone.

Annual Meeting: The annual meeting will be on June 12th at Lairmont Manor. Elections will be held at the meeting. ENA can have up to 11 board members – we have 7 positions open this year. The plan is to keep everything simple. John contacted Tracy at Haggen and she suggested putting a gift certificate in a gift basket. He will follow up with details.

Bylaws: No changes made to the bylaws – there was not a quorum present to pass a vote.

Neighborhood Night Out: Think about hosting a party this August for Neighborhood Night Out. Reminders will be posted on NextDoor Edgemoor and Edgemoor Conversations blog.

Neighborhood Magazine: There is a new magazine in the neighborhood planned to mail out in June. It will be a good place to list meeting dates, ENA information and extend communication in the neighborhood.

Sewage Treatment Plant: The project is about complete and the ribbon cutting has been planned for June 24th.  Sandie mentioned that the process went quite well, however she was disappointed in the landscaping.

CCFMPD: The council will meet this month – must follow protocol to finalize zoning.

Guest: Molly Maguire (Landscape Architect)

Molly was not able to get her computer to work for the presentation she had planned. We will reschedule for sometime this Fall. She did take a moment to answer a couple questions about weed control.

Closing:

The meeting was adjourned about 8:30

The next meeting will be held 7-9pm on Thursday, June 12th at Lairmont Manor. Everyone is encouraged and welcomed to come meet your neighbors and get to know your neighborhood.

Respectfully Submitted,

Lauri Grove
