December 7-8, 2005, Bellingham

 

Jim Diers, author of Neighbor Power, a book about his experiences as a community organizer and director of the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, will be speaking at a number of events in Bellingham on Wednesday, December 7 and Thursday, December 8, 2005.

 

Dec. 7th, 2:00-4:00 PM             Jim will talk with Western Washington Research 501 and  Human Services students at their end-of-quarter project presentation in Room 240 Science Math and Technology Education Center.

 

Dec. 7th, 6:00-8:00PM              Jim will give the keynote address at the Whatcom Family & Community Network’s Community Building Awards Dinner at St. Luke's Health Education Center, an event recognizing 14 community builders in Whatcom County.

 

Dec. 8th, 11:30-1:30                  Jim will meet for lunch with neighborhood representatives and city staff and discuss resident leadership in developing neighborhood plans at Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro.

 

Dec 8th, 7:00PM                      Jim will read from his book, Neighbor Power, at Village Books in Fairhaven.
