NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

The purpose of the neighborhood meeting is to introduce the following proposed project::

Fairhaven Highlands, a proposed infill housing project located on approximately 85 acres adjacent to Chuckanut Drive in Bellingham's South Neighborhood (Vicinity Map on reverse). The project is designed to achieve Bellingham's "Smart Growth" objectives, while preserving strong neighborhood values and characteristics. Actual site plans will be based upon forward thinking, environmentally sensitive land planning and engineering, green building techniques, multi-family zoning, regulatory requirements and market demands. The project will have a total of 739 housing units (reduced from the originally allowed density of 1,464), consisting of a mix of cottage lots, single-family lots, townhomes/stacked flats, and low- and mid-rise condominium units. This mixed housing affords the opportunity to leave a larger portion of the land in a more natural state than the usual project that has been built in typical multi-family developments in Bellingham.

We are holding this meeting to tell you about the proposal and invite your comments and questions. As required by the City of Bellingham, it is being conducted before we apply for land use permits.
